Feeling the Chill of Winter During Illness

feeling the chill of winter during illness

Chronic illness has a way of intensifying winter. The cold harsh reality of a broken body and broken relationships can wear as thin as a windbreaker in a roaring blizzard. Finding warmth, joy and wholeness is a challenge during a numbness that never seems to thaw. The chill of winter reminds us to “chill” in the numbness. Even snowmen eventually thaw.

What Courage, Faith & Skills Have You Learned from Chronic Illness?

chronic illness, are you only seeing part of the picture?

Moving forward requires looking at illness from a different perspective. Dr. Randy Michaux said, “During chronic illness, what courage, faith, and skills have you learned.” I love LOVE LOVE this!!!! Asking Why Not, Instead of Why

Why can I NOT find my way through chronic illness? Why can I NOT see hope? Why can I NOT breakthrough these health barriers? Is this really NOT possible? I actually have the WHY NOT answer and have applied it with victories galore. You too can do this…

When To Push Hard During Chronic Illness

When is the time to push through?

Rarely will I be the one to say that we should push hard, push through, battle, or war, especially during chronic illness. That is too much stress on our physical bodies, too much emotional stress and not enough self-care and it actually sets us back. Yet, there are exceptions when pushing hard through a illness situation can lead us right down the healing path. Last week I had one of those push-through and push-dang-hard weeks that broke some all-time lingering health barriers.

Autumn Adaptations For Better Health

Autumn adaptations for better health

Our bodies are healthiest when they have the ability to adapt. During chronic illness, this can become a joke. Everything has become harder. Every season we have the opportunity to change things up and get our bodies in the adaptation mode, one tiny baby step at a time. This is a fun way to challenge our bodies very gently into better health.
