HIP Openers, or was that Hip OPENERS

Nothing HIP about me and I know it and I am cool with it. But I did open an email that said, “Hip Openers.” With my all-knowing knowledge that I am not HIP, I was thinking I would get some HIP openers to keep your attention. Not quite the way it turned out. My expectations today did not meet reality, not even close. I did find some good Hip OPENERS though… Continue reading HIP Openers, or was that Hip OPENERS

Turning Cake Upside Down – Part 2

I made it!!! I not only survived, but I also conquered. It always amazes me how much we can get done when we pace ourselves. Being chronically ill certainly has its limitations but when we use our common sense we can work around the impossible. I am having an “I am possible” day. Get it, I’mPossible = impossible. Yep, I tell awful jokes when I am floating in a victory. Continue reading Turning Cake Upside Down – Part 2

Turning Today Upside Down, Just to Get Through

When we have difficult days to get through and we know it ahead of time, what about turning the day upside down. Doing something completely different can turn the difficulty into an adventure. It does not take away the fact that it is still hard. Make upside down cake out of what little ingredients we have. Continue reading Turning Today Upside Down, Just to Get Through

Mini-Crisis During Chronic Illness

Talk about looks… well, this just tops the cake for wanting to hide in a closet. In comparison to the life-threatening crisis I have had, this is nothing. Yet it still is a mini-crisis that I have to stop everything for to deal with. You know how many times you have had to stop everything for the mini-crisis that comes with the territory. This one is nasty but not impossible to deal with.  Continue reading Mini-Crisis During Chronic Illness

Sleep and EMF’s, Still Troubleshooting Inflammation

The visual display of the inflammation roller-coaster was hopefully helpful for you yesterday. We have some control over how bad the inflammation gets while we find the root cause of it.  While we keep troubleshooting, it is helpful to try different tools to make us more comfortable which in turns reduces our stress, making it easier to heal. Today we will look at some more tools for a healthy lifestyle, including lowing inflammation. Continue reading Sleep and EMF’s, Still Troubleshooting Inflammation

Chronic Illness Takes its Toll on Our Looks

Okay, so I survived the humbling (or is that humiliating????) experience of posting my first video yesterday. That was one of the top ten hardest things I have done during this last 6 years of the latest health crash. Guess I still have more vanity issues to work on. Now that I woke up this morning and realize that I survived the challenge, it is time to keep moving through this. Continue reading Chronic Illness Takes its Toll on Our Looks

Stretch Don’t Stress

Life is filled with stress. Chronic illness brings tons of additional stress. Our own thinking is even stress-filled. It is everywhere and we cannot run away from it. We can build healthy boundaries and limits to help protect ourselves but it still does not make us immune to stress. So how are we supposed to grow and learn and flourish into who we are meant to be without stress in our lives? Continue reading Stretch Don’t Stress

Relax… Get Your Toe Out of the Bowling Ball

Have you ever watched something so odd that you cannot help but to smile? I saw a lady with her toe stuck in a bowling ball of all things. Her adorable attitude is what caught my attention more than anything. Life comes with drama but when we relax into it we can even get our toes unstuck from a bowling ball. Continue reading Relax… Get Your Toe Out of the Bowling Ball

Slow Sundays – Christmas Eve

This particular Sunday is Christmas Eve. Slowing down for Christmas Eve just does not sound reasonable. As we work our way through chronic illness, we just cannot go at full speed. What would happen if you strategically placed a chair in the midst of the excitement area and camped out? With all the hub-bub, no one might even notice how still you are. Continue reading Slow Sundays – Christmas Eve

Relax in YOUR Cabin

Chronic illness and pain create so much stress that at some point we need to find a way to relax and chill. Many of you love cruises and can relax that way. I am not a cruise loving fan so I find other ways to dream about relaxing. A cabin in the mountains on a lake is my idea of a grand chill. Continue reading Relax in YOUR Cabin
