Noise Hurts!

You cannot even see the wind or air movement so how in the world can it hurt. Put air on devices and it creates just the right buzz to drive a chick to her knees in pain. Headaches are a nasty business and the oddest things can send a person plummeting into despair from the pain. Triggers like wind, even the slightest breeze can be more than one can bare during a bad headache. Let’s quiet our world a little more while we hurt.

Cleopatra’s Inner Beauty

Chronic illness and pain have a way of allowing us to see the world through a different set of eyes, seeing far beyond surface beauty and the shallowness of misperceived notions. During the months and years of illness, use your time wisely and find what is truly important to you. Beauty can be seen from the inside out, through the art of claiming your inner glow, even during chronic illness. Let’s look at how we can gain that inner glow about us through Cleopatra’s example of truly being beautiful.

Energy of Hopelessness

“Life is happening to me and there is nothing I can do about it. Life is not on my side. I did not ask to get sick and I have no control over this situation. No one understands, no one truly helps, nobody cares. How did this happen to me, this is devastating, I am stuck with this poor health.”

Been there done that. You will never hear judgment from me on that kind of thinking. Having chronic illness, pain and isolation was by far the hardest thing I have ever done in my lifetime. It stinks, no getting around it. So, I get it, but these thoughts keep us sicker than we need to be, they keep us in a state of hopelessness which feeds the illness.

How to get the most out of “exercise” when you have chronic illness and pain – Part 2

It is truly monumental for a person with chronic illness and pain to move their bodies. The pain and exhaustion from the simple thought of moving our bodies can be daunting. Traditional exercise is not realistic. We covered a few ideas to “exercise” by getting the brain moving when you cannot get the body moving in Part 1. Now let’s look at how to “exercise” when you are able to take a few steps.

How to get the most out of “exercise” when you have chronic illness and pain – Part 1

When we are in the middle of chronic illness and pain exercise is rarely a consideration. Transporting our hurting bodies from the bed to the sofa takes as much energy as a marathon. A daily shower is laughable but sometimes a requirement so we painfully get through it and need the afternoon to recover from the event. If you have never had chronic illness and pain don’t worry, we don’t expect for your brain to wrap around this. We would never wish for you to go through it. For those of us who have experienced it or have watched loved ones struggle through it, we get it. So, how in the world do you even consider exercise in this state? There is always a way! Big Girl Panties – Big Boy Boxers

What a phrase, “put on your big girl panties.” Usually I do not refer to my panties in public in great hopes that if I act like a lady I will be treated like one. This is an exception. There are times we need to rise to the occasion and put on our big people undies.  In a literal sense sometimes our undies need to grow with us. In what was a humiliating experience at the time I learned this lesson the hard way.

Rainbow Miracles

2017-06-09Blog-bigstock-Landscape-With-Cows-And-Rainbo-149257541

Rainbows are a reminder of hope, colorful beautiful hope. Have you ever tried to touch a rainbow? I have, it does not work. As you walk closer to a rainbow it gets harder to see, our perspective of it changes. My connection with rainbows are more meaningful from afar. They stop me in my tracks to take it all in and enjoy the moment. Whatever the problems, they seem to get smaller and are covered by the glorious colors of hope. There are scientific reasons why rainbows appear when and where they do but have you ever noticed that they show up at interesting times in our lives?

Coffee Labels

Coffee. Cup of steaming coffee with the real coffee ripe berries

Is coffee good or bad for you? You will find arguments for both sides supporting fairly convincing evidence. I have always severely labeled coffee as unhealthy until recently. Lately, I have explored what coffee might do for a body that never, I mean NEVER, drinks coffee. My experiments with this worldwide obsession have brought me to neutral ground. We all need to find what works for our bodies at any given moment.

Abundance

PAGE-apples-bigstock--177708037

Abundance is a powerful resource to notice. Sometimes it is hard to see but when we look hard enough it is there. This morning I felt covered in abundance as the rising sun was shining through my bedroom window and I could hear the birds chirping. What a way to wake up every morning. No matter where our bodies are located on this planet, once a day, every day, the sun rises. I am fortunate to live in a rural town with lots of trees that the birds love so they fill my ears with their songs every morning.  I have enjoyed early mornings in this atmosphere. It reminds me that regardless of what is going on in life, there is an abundance to be seen and heard if I just dare to notice.

New Beginnings in Cyber Space

2017-06-05 BLOG-bigstock-Hands-Holding-A-Green-Young-Pl-104743976.jpg

Grow where you are planted! I love that saying. It generates hope. Even when I could not connect the cyberspace dots in my brain to produce results, I grew from the experience. The last 24 hours have been a ball. Just when I thought I was hopeless on the Internet, I located cyberspace. Continue reading New Beginnings in Cyber Space
