It feels like we get stuck in chronic illness but it really is not the destination. As we gently move through the issues, we move through illness instead of getting stuck in it.
Don’t focus on all the things going wrong.
Don’t focus on all the things you cannot do.
Don’t go too dark on how sucky illness is.
Don’t blame or shame yourself for this.
Don’t go there!!!!!!
Ha, rigggghhhhhhht. Easier said than done.
I know how hard it is to be chronically ill. Did it for decades. Stuck in bed for years. Looked hopeless. Others gave up. WHATEVER!!!
Move on, keep moving.
Having a mindset that we are capable of moving through it, actually moves us through it. Without the mindset, we get stuck in it.
Keep moving…
Today, only for today, what can you do to keep moving?
- Produce ONE smile just because you are worth it
- Drink an extra glass of water
- Listen to music
- When those dark thoughts creep up, walk outside
- Change your bed sheets
- Look out the window
- Have a good cry
- Write in your journal honest feelings
- Scream in a pillow
- Take a shower or bath
- Pick up the phone and call someone
Do ANYTHING that creates movement.
While we are chronically ill, sometimes movement means ANYTHING. It is different for everyone.
Just do it!!!! Whatever IT is…
