Depression Blues go Orange

The color yellow (and orange) help with depression blues. Whether it is the yellow sun, a yellow pineapple, juicy oranges or essential oils of citrus, it lifts the blues immediately. If you don’t believe me, try it. 

Depression and the blues are very common during chronic illness and pain. We are more isolated and that causes it. We become concerned and even scared sometimes for our health and our future because of the illness which causes depression. There is also the list of physical reasons that cause depression. Inflammation of the brain, amino acid upset, and hormone imbalance are just a few physical reasons. When we get depressed during chronic illness it usually does not feel like it matters why we just want to heal from it so life does not feel so difficult. Taking the edge off of depression will help the moment at hand.

While you are working on all of the reasons for your depression, you can try this immediate relief remedy, color. The color yellow and orange lift your blues immediately. Give it a try. Grab a bowl and find anything yellow and orange in your kitchen and cut it up.

“Happy Meal”

My favorite is pineapple and banana covered in coconut cream to help control sugar spike. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or vanilla and a few nuts and you have a “happy meal.”

Yellow sunshine has the same results. Eat your yellow and orange happy meal outside in the sunshine and you will get even quicker results. Let the sunshine glow in your eyes. Let at much of your skin feel the sunshine.

Essential Oils of Citrus
