Why Do Kids Jump On Beds?

Because it is fun! Children usually do things because it is fun. They naturally move and laugh and run and play. Take a kid to a hotel room and they will go right to the bed and start jumping. It is a ball. When was the last time you jumped on a bed?

It has always fascinated me to watch children and see what they do and how they do it. Children jump around a lot, especially if there is a bed around.

Our bodies thrive on that jumping motion. We have a system in our bodies that need manual movement. Our lymphatic system has no pump, like our heart. Our lymph system rids our bodies of toxins and unwanted materials. During chronic illness, lymph fluid can get trapped.

The more you are still, the more you feel achy and stiff. The lymphatic system works best when we can move our bodies, which helps keep fluids circulating and nutrients reaching your cells.

Children instinctively know this, therefore they jump. Taking walks or any kind of movement at all during chronic illness helps our lymph system move. Yoga and rebounding (small trampoline) are ideal to keep your lymph fluid flowing. Even a detox bath helps blood and lymph flow.

Young or old, jump on your bed! Laugh and enjoy getting your lymph fluid flowing.

Do you even remember the last time you jumped on your bed? I don’t. Let’s do it.
