Healthy First Aid Kit

Making our lives as toxic-free as possible contributes towards better health. Have you thought about what goes in a first aid kit that is as toxic-free and natural as possible? There are some surprisingly effective first-aid natural products.

Capsules keep well in a first aid kit. They are also convenient in emergency situations. You can open one (or more) at a time and make an instant paste for bug bites, cuts, and burns.

Capsules are convenient in an emergency. Make Handy-Dandy-Emergency-Paste

  • open capsule in palm of clean hand (or in the lid of the bottle)
  • drop water on to it, a drop at a time until it makes a paste consistency
  • mix together with a clean finger or cotton swab
  • place on skin to draw out toxins, stop bleeding, stop itching, etc.

Bug Bites — Paste to draw out toxins – Mimosa Pudica Seed (Para 1)

Intestinal illness, vomiting, diarrhea, ingestion of toxins, etc. — Mimosa Pudica Seed (Para 1) or Biotoxin Binder — This can replace activated charcoal which is a spent carbon (no energy).

  • Mimosa Pudica Seed (Para 1) has energy
  • Biotoxin Binder — has energy
  • Keep the local poison control number on hand in case a child ingests a toxic substance and immediately take a child to the hospital if the child has swallowed a battery or magnet

Digestive trouble, indigestion, food poisoning, etc — Apple Cider Vinegar – organic with “mother”

  • I keep a bottle of organic Apple Cider Vinegar with “the mother” in my first aid kit and another in the kitchen
  • Take 1 teaspoon per 8 ounces of water every hour, it helps shorten the duration of any type of illness, though kids will not likely cooperate due to taste

Nausea — Peppermint and/or Ginger Essential Oil does wonders for upset stomach

Headache — there are many sources of headaches, so not all remedies will solve all headaches

  • Peppermint and Lavender Essential Oils rubbed on temples and forehead
  • Anica pellets – homeopathic pellets for pain relief
  • Migraine Relief Essential Oils
  • Magnesium – most people have very low magnesium levels, causing headaches
    • Magnesium may prevent the wave of brain signaling, called cortical spreading depression, which produces the visual and sensory changes that are common when experiencing a headache, especially a migraine. Magnesium can block the pain-transmitting chemicals in the brain, and it can improve platelet function, which will help your body react to injuries and prevent bleeding. ~ Dr. Axe
  • Vitamin B Complex

Muscles & Bruises – Relieves the pain, swelling and muscle stiffness of over-exercising and physical trauma.

Cuts & Bleeding

True story — I stopped bleeding immediately from a deep cut, eliminating stitches and emergency room by opening a capsule of Para 1 (which is Mimosa Pudica Seed) directly on the deep cut.

Burns

Heart Issues — call 911 — while waiting for medical attention there are some things you can do…

Respiratory Issues — if it is a true asthma attack you may need to call 911

Radiation Exposure

Calming — during first aid treatments, everyone needs to stay calm

Homeopathic arnica can even be used to help treat shock, which can happen with uncontrolled bleeding. It’s recommended to take some with any first aid incident.

Dizziness

Eyes — CAUTION do not use anything in the eyes unless you know it is safe

DIY First Aid Kits

I have personally used a toolbox and a file box for my DIY First Aid Kits over the years. Use what works for you.

Making a full first aid kit can be quite expensed to do all at once. It is okay to do what you can and add to it as you go.

They make great gifts…

Add a Red Cross sticker on the front…
