The only dreams I know about that do not come with obstacles are the ones in Hollywood. As you work through your dreams, you will come across obstacles. It will slow you down, make you wonder, make you mad and for some of us, will make us fight even harder for what we want.
Each person has to determine for themselves how hard to fight for their dreams. The obstacles can be tremendous. Some of us thrive on the challenge and the obstacles are good for us and help us grow.
For others, the obstacles can cause so much stress that it takes away from their lives instead of adding to it. You are the only one who can determine what kind of stress is good for you and what kind is bad for you.
Someone with chronic illness who has a dream of health might just see the obstacles as a will to live. Each obstacle moves us closer to health and we are more than willing to fight through them for our dream of health. The definition of “health” does not always include “a cure.” Health dreams are tricky so don’t get stuck on the semantics of it all. If health is your dream and you are ready for the obstacles, let’s get going.
If you are ready to fight for your dream, whatever it is, then let’s go.
You will get dirty in the process
You will get knocked down more than once
The load will be heavier than anticipated
The obstacles will be trickier than you can imagine
You will get tangled up and slowed down
Sometimes you will be hanging on by your fingertips
Only you can choose if the hurdles are worth it
The victories are sweet
Those who work their way through all the obstacles also get the joy of the victory. Of course, it is not as simplistic as that.
For today, we are determining if we are willing to take on the obstacles that come with dreams. Being aware that there will be tremendous challenges we have to face help us make wise decisions. You are the only one who can determine if the stress will benefit or hurt your current life situation.
Are you ready now to take on the obstacles? Or do you need to wait?
