This warm combination of quintessential autumn spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves can be used in dishes both savory and sweet.
Pumpkin pie spice is incredibly easy to make. It is so easy that you might want to gather gift jars and give it away as hostess gifts throughout the holidays.
Organic Pumpkin Pie Spice
4 tablespoons organic ground cinnamon (purchase here)
4 teaspoons organic ground nutmeg (purchase here)
3 teaspoons organic ground ginger (purchase here)
3 teaspoons organic ground cloves (purchase here)
1/2 – 1 teaspoon organic ground allspice (optional) (purchase here)
1/2 teaspoon organic ground cardamom (optional) (purchase here)
Instructions:
Use a coffee/spice grinder (purchase here) to make fresh powder if you have whole ingredients.
Mix ingredients and store in airtight glass jar.
Make 4 times the recipe and mix. Place in 4 gift jars. Mix in a large jar so you can swirl it around. Pour into smaller individual airtight glass jars.
Usually, one recipe will be enough to get one family through the holiday season. I use it in so many different things during the holiday season that I go through two recipes.
