Crazy Good Keto Coffee

If we are going to continue drinking coffee, let’s make it good for us and not lose the taste. The possibilities are amazing.

Coffee Debate: Good or Bad?

Downfalls: Everyday black coffee has its downfalls: may raise blood pressure, may increase the risk of heart attack, can disrupt sleep, can promote anxiety, increases your stress hormones, can elicit cortisol and increase insulin, and so much more. Dig deeper, learn more.

Advantages: Everyday black coffee also has its advantages: wakes us up and gives us temporary energy and there are a few slight health benefits to a pure organic coffee bean. If you want great arguments for coffee consumption, here they are: THIS Is What A Cup Of Coffee Does To Your Body!

Let’s just keep this simple, YOU decide for yourself, for YOUR body and for YOUR health. You have a brain and gut instinct, use them, whichever way you decide.

If you choose to drink coffee, then let’s make our coffee something that our bodies can use for good. When we add healthy fats and protein to our coffee, we create a powerful healthy drink that is still our familiar coffee.

Healthy Fats

As we have learned, Eat Healthy Fats are essential to our health. Our brains are at least 60% fat and we need healthy fats to feed them along with the great benefits to the rest of our body. Healthy fats are also vital to our heart health, Healthy Fats, Heart Health Lifestyle. With this information, it is time to incorporate more healthy fats. If we are going to continue the use of coffee, we might as well make it with all the benefits.

VEGAN = Healthy fats can be vegan by using coconut cream or milk (and/or MCT oil).

MCT Oil:

“MCTs” are medium-chain triglycerides. MCT oil supports brain health, weight management, hormones, gut, and immune health. Get an extra boost of energy and health benefits. MCT oil contains fats which are easily digested and sent directly to your liver where they positively affect your metabolism. Our bodies burn them for energy/fuel instead of being stored as fat.

There are four different kinds of MCTs: caproic (C6:0), caprylic (C8:0), capric (C10:0) and lauric (C12:0) acids. The shorter the chain, the lower the number of carbons the acid has, the faster the body can turn the fatty acids into usable energy, in the form of ketones. Ketones are what the body produces when it’s using fat for energy instead of glucose.

MCT vs Coconut Oil:

MCT oil is high in Capric acid (C10) and Caprylic Acid (C8) because these are the only two MCT oils that turn into ATP, the cellular fuel you use. The unique structure of medium-chain fatty acids makes MCT oil stand above coconut oil. MCT oil has more “bang” than coconut oil, but you certainly can use coconut oil instead of the pricier MCT oil. Dig deeper and learn more about medium-chain triglycerides to make an educated decision. I personally use MCT oil in my morning drink (hot coffee or tea) and add coconut oil to things like salad dressings and smoothies throughout the day.

Healthy Protein

Protein is essential for building muscle, burning fat, metabolism, and support the health of certain organs like your thyroid and adrenal glands. Tissues and cells benefit as well. We need protein to heal and to be healthy.

When we distribute protein throughout the day, it is utilized more efficiently and we generally feel better. The correct amount depends on 1) your goals 2) your weight 3) lean body mass. Healing – requires more quality protein. Vegan or grass-fed protein powders help to meet these requirements.

Might as well use your coffee drink to help meet these protein requirements. There is little to no taste in the protein powders that I have used. It is kind of like adding a powder creamer to your coffee but protein powders can be tasteless.

Tea can replace coffee:

Check this out, you can do this with tea instead of coffee. If you are trying to stay away from caffeine, use caffeine-free tea. If you want the caffeine buzz but don’t want coffee, use caffeinated tea like oolong tea or black tea. Dandelion tea is also a wonderful coffee alternative. I do different things every morning and play around with it all the time. Experiment and see what you like and what works for your particular body.

Coffee Essential Oil:

Beyond fascinating to me – there is an organic coffee essential oil that has the taste and health benefits of coffee but not the caffeine. Contact me to purchase some.
