CoronaVirus Hand Sanitizer DIY

CoronaVirus DIY hand sanitizer

Number one easy most effective tool there is during this nutty time — wash your hands!! Hand sanitizers are no longer available, make you own. Super easy.

Hands and Immune System

Antibacterial products kill ALL the bacteria on your hands; including the GOOD bacteria you need for healthy skin and a properly functioning immune system. In fact, they have been shown to weaken your immune system!

Right now, we need the healthiest immune systems we can get.

Healthy, Happy Hands

Germs and bacteria are everywhere! It’s something you can’t avoid.

Something you can do to protect your family is to wash your hands on a regular basis.

This is a perfect time to keep your hands clean and try not to rub your eyes.

Hand Sanitizers

Did you know that commercial hand sanitizers are actually bad for you, even in this kind of CoronaVirus state of emergency? They are not only filled with harmful chemicals but they strip the microbiome from your skin. You need the natural microbiome of your skin for germ protection. Commercial hand sanitizers actually work against you.

This is a perfect time to switch over to something healhty.

This is an opportunity. Life is either happening TO you or FOR you. Let’s use this wild time for our benefit. We can learn all kinds of fun and healthy things and have the time to explore alternatives since most of us are stuck at home anyway.

Hot Water & Soap

Don’t want to make your own hand sanitizer? Hot water and soap is more effective anyway, keep it simple and DO IT.

DIY Hand Sanitizer

Use any Essential Oil that you have on hand. If you have any antibacterial Essential Oils, include them.

A plastic bottle is recommended only because right now with all the stress, we want to reduce the risk of any broken glass and more stress!! Even dudes can put these small 5ml bottles in their pockets. Dudettes, this can go in the smallest of purses.

Antibacterial Essential Oils

  • Peppermint Essential Oil
  • Tea Tree Essential Oil
  • Lavender Essential Oil
  • Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • Oregano Essential Oil
  • Palma Rosa Essential Oil
  • Orange Essential Oil
  • Lemongrass Essential Oil
  • Geranium Essential Oil
  • Citronella Essential Oil

You can get fancy and make it with certain blends…

  • Deep Breathing Blend – Cardamom, eucalyptus, lemon, peppermint, rosemary, tea tree
  • Focus Blend – Cedarwood, frankincense, sandalwood and vetiver
  • Good Bye Allergy Blend – Lavender, lemon, and peppermint
  • Healthy Digestion Blend – Anise, caraway, fennel, ginger, lemon, tarragon
  • Immune Boosting Blend – Cinnamon leaf (bark would be too strong in this recipe), clove, eucalyptus, rosemary, orange and lemon
  • Happy Blend – Orange, lemon, bergamot, grapefruit and vanilla absolute
  • Sleepy Time Blend – Roman chamomile, lavender, and vetiver

This seems odd not to add aloe or alcohol and make a mixture. There is so much controversy, I am just not going to go there. Add whatever makes sense to you. Don’t get caught up in all the science and freak-out.

Sometimes I keep it super simple and use coconut oil which helps me spread the EO’s on my skin.

Do what works for you and makes sense to you and don’t stress about it. The idea is to get something portable so you will take it with you when you leave the house during this time.
