Fail Forward – Cycology

Our grandparents would tell us that failing creates a learning experience, it builds character. They surely are right but I need more incentive than that to keep this up. The only motivation I can find after all these years of illness is the fact that I am failing forward. I am getting closer and closer to healing because I am willing to have some failures along the way that keep me moving forward. The bumps and bruises of failing forward are so worth it.

Isolation – Failing Forward

When we try, TRY ANYTHING, to bust through isolation and get around others, we move forward.

Worth failing forward through the embarrassing moments of being ill in front of others.

When we get around others who are good to us, we are nourished. We get something out of the experience that we would not have received if we did not risk failure.

When we move through isolation issues, our emotions settle, some emotional wounds can be healed and we can see great improvements in our health.

Healing – Failing Forward

In long term illness we get bogged down by fear of how bad our situations are. I have heard some horror stories beyond belief.

Our bodies are not responding the way they should. No one knows how to fix it. We don’t have enough money to pay the utilities after decades of illness. Our relationships have been torn apart by illness. And it has been so grim for so long that we cannot even imagine it getting any better.

We have fear and desperation but not the resources to have any motivation to even begin to see a glimmer of hope.

The choices are:

  • Do something
  • Don’t do anything

Some of the natural stuff may sound far out there to some people. It takes courage and hope for them to make healthy natural lifestyle choices that will improve their situation. They have to be willing to fail forward.

Some people are not comfortable with their own bodies and it takes courage and hope for them become familiar with their own needs. Yet, if those needs are not met, they will not have a chance at healing. They have to be willing to fail forward.

Some people are so stuck in their ways that they cannot see options. Food can become a religion, or negativity a lifestyle, or too many prescription drugs. We all have individual things that we get stuck on. Without the risk of failing, we stay stuck in our unhealthy ways.

Cycology of Failing Forward

When we view failure as something that can help us get to a better place, we are willing to take the tumbles.
